The green push-pins on the map show demolition and new construction permits requested from the Village of Winnetka during 2007, through the month of October. Earlier permits are shown in a reddish pink.

We'll be expanding this map with prior and subsequent data during the next few weeks. In the meantime, consider that the map points represent only a small portion of recent Winnetka teardown activity. According to an academic study, 9.4% of Winnetka's housing stock (373 homes) was torn down between 1996 and 2003.
